C BREAKSPEAR - Exeter v Colchester
« on: Tue 23 Jun 2020 22:42 »
I must say Mr Breakspear put in a convincing performance yesterday. He has a reputation to be quite the card shark but there was no sign of that here. He got nothing wrong, his communication with players was excellent and the cherry on the cake was his fitness: Charlie certainly hasn't spent the time since his last outing on the couch.

I was shocked to see that this lad who not long ago looked like he arrived straight from the pub has lost probably at least 2 st and almost moving faster than the ball on quick counters - for the full 120 minutes!

I'd say Charlie certainly has SG2 potential after seeing this 'new man' (both bodily and refereeing-wise). Could we see him promoted soon?

I totally agree with your assessment - absolutely nothing to complain about with his performance yesterday. Very assured, always in control and almost every single decision correct. His reputation does precede him, but I must say I very rarely disagree with any of his red cards when you watch the highlights. Maybe SG2 May well be calling!

Agree with all the above.

Couldn't believe it when I saw him.
Clearly taking it seriously and pushing on.

Really nice guy is Charles, great to see.

Totally agree! Always had a soft spot for him. At the risk of various eyes being rolled my way again - he gives the best hugs as well.  Not had one for yonks though :(

When SG2 Charles referees Crewe v AFCB in the Championship in 2021/2, I promise I'll be second in line to give you a big hug after Charles.  ;D
