I can confirm that Bobby Madley is in Oslo and he has already had his first fall from cross country skiing.

He will start with friendlies during the winter and he will not start in our Premier League (Eliteserien). At the moment the plan is to have Madley ready for the start of next season, but there is not certain at which level he will start.

In this article from NRK which is slightly more trustworthy than The Sun, Madley confirms that there is a gagging order.

So are they parachuting him straight into the Eliteserien when he does start doing games - or will he be stuck on the Obos or Post Nord for a while?

Refereeing Odd would seem apposite!

That remains to be seen. The signals from the FA is that he will not be on the list of Eliteserie referees coming out in early December.

I am glad they appear to be making him work his way up. It's only right, not only in respect of the refs there that have had to do so but it also gives him time to learn & understand the system there. All country leagues are very different and have their own unique peculiarities. Seems from that interview that he was expecting that to be the case and seemed grateful just to be refereeing there and willing to work his way up, assuming google translate was a reasonable reflection of the content of it!
Hajrá Lilák. Csak a Kispest. Hajrá Magyarok! Hajrá játékvezetői csapat! Soha ne add fel. Nincs sárga kérem!!! No Chris Kavanagh doesn't live in Ashton or even in the Greater Manchester area!!

Anyone who has a spare hour, and the inclination to listen, may wish to look up the ‘Fotballklubben’ podcast from last week, which featured an hour long chat with Bobby (in English) and was a decent listen. Anyone who has seen him as a public speaker will know he is quite engaging and I think that comes across well here. But it backs up the assertion above from BMB that he indeed didn’t expect to be parachuted directly into the Eliteserien.
