Blackburn v Huddersfield - Keith Stroud

Gave a yellow for this tackle

Both sets of fans "singing his praises" (!) on social media.

The tackle is not that dissimilar to the tackle by Bacuna for which James Linington correctly gave a red.

Ouch, v unpleasant and I can see the similarities with the Linington red card.

It’s a clear red. Stroud getting absolutely caned by both sets of fans post match, which seems a familiar theme in the games he refs. So far past his sell by date now that it’s getting embarrassing. How much longer are the authorities going to allow him to ruin football matches?

Didn't he have an interview for SG1 at the end of last season?

For me, he's not been the same since that penalty error in a Newcastle game a few years back.  He used to be a safe pair of hands, but not anymore.

I don’t normally comment on the referee of my own clubs games when he had a bad day. However, the clip says almost everything. What it doesn’t go on to show is Stroud putting his hand to his earpiece and looking intently at his assistant, it appeared to be a direct gesture to the crowd in an attempt to shift the blame. A couple of us commented at the time and in some respects that action was worse than the decision itself. I wouldn’t know where to start on the rest of his performance.

Penalty 1 - I can understand the thought of shoulder to shoulder until I saw it again

Penalty 2 - Not sure if he sees the contact on thre arm plus in throes of blowing for half time, in the "seen them given" category

Red Card - either he didnt have the angle or was looking for way out as he definitely invited in the AR, who would not have had the best view. Missed RC
