Apologies to bring an old chat, but RTR is often my lunch break sanctuary at the office, and having not been there and with no football I've been catching up on a few months worth of posts - but just had to comment on this one.
Though not in the flesh the best performance I saw from an officiating team was the one led by Howard Webb for Italy v Slovakia in World Cup 2010, there were a few incidents to deal with, off the top of my head I remember I think the GK going down looking for a sanction for an opponent and he immediately got to the scene and ushered him up rather than looking for any other action, a late goal that would have saved Italy correctly ruled offside by about 6 inches and in my opinion it was this performance that earned Howard and his team the final at the end of the tournament
