Anthony Taylor - Chelsea v Man City

Unbelievable !!!!

Keeper picks up backpass, freekick awarded correctly, but then the freekick is taken from outside the area!!!!

What hope is there if a FIFA referee allows this.!!!!

Good call from Anthony and Mike Dean not to award Chelsea a penalty.. If that was Coote and Tierney, for much less, it would have been a penalty.. That's why Taylor and Dean are top of the list and the former two should be in League 1 and 2 in my opinion.

Not only him but what about the other 3 officials who could have least prompted him.

Hmmm.  I've only seen 1 replay and I think 1 slo-mo, but I was inclined to agree with G Neville that it was a foul.  It also seemed to me that the contact was on the line, more so than than the other controversial penalty awarded recently in a similar incident.

But I plead failure to visit specsavers if this view proves to be totally wrong...!

I would guess:-
Michael Oliver say, six years ago - No penalty
Michael Oliver now - Penalty
Andre Marriner - No Penalty
Martin Atkinson - No Penalty

I go back to my point, there is no working definition of a foul any more.  Some seem to regard any contact as a foul (if the player falls over convincingly) others allow varying degrees of contact as players tussle for the ball.  Doesn't seem to matter if the attacker initiates the contact or not.
