A Madley - Fulham v Forest
« on: Sun 12 Feb 2023 10:58 »
Not a fan of Madley, so only fair to give praise for a largely excellent performance. Yes, he could have potentially carded Aurier again and retrospectively a Forest player in the build up to Fulham's 2nd, but overall kept his cards in his pocket and allowed the game to flow. Two excellent advantages played in the build up to Fulham's 2nd. Only obvious error I can recall was a corner to Forest when it should've been a goal-kick for Fulham.

A massive slice of humble pie from me regarding Madley. I was never a fan and to be perfectly frank I thought he was very poor in the past.
But last season, watching Prem games on the box whilst Fulham were in the Championship, there seemed to be something different about him. Can’t put my finger on what it was, but he just seemed to be coasting through gams without getting noticed and without any major errors. I began to question whether I’d been to harsh in my earlier judgements.
This season he has reffed 3 Fulham games and has been at least a 9 out of 10 in every one, culminating in yesterdays when I thought he was virtually faultless. The advantage for Fulham’s 2nd goal is sublime. Well done to Andy, I hold my hands up, I was wrong
