4th Officials Subs Board
« on: Mon 22 Jun 2020 21:22 »
Any reason why the 4th officials are not doing the boards at the subs? I assume it's to do with corona but can't see how that would cause much of a risk especially if the boards are cleaned before each game.

In the PL, the club officials normally input the details into the board and then hand it to the 4th Official to conduct the sub. Obviously they have removed that handover presently

It’ll be one of the protocols introduced to reduce shared equipment. Similar guidance was given to schools.

The other thing I find strange about fourth officials is that it seems they must wear a mask, yet others in and around the technical area don’t have to. Surely it should have to be the same for everyone!

On the plus side they can say what they like to the coaching staff without worrying about people lip-reading.  ;D

In fact since players and coaches seem to live in fear of their lips being read, constantly putting their hands over their mouths when they speak, I am surprised they haven't all started wearing masks.
