Gyirmót FC Győr 1-1 Kisvárda
Referee: Káprály Mihály - black shirt
YC:4; YYR:0; RC:0; Pen:1

Kisvárda’s first game since Joăo Janeiro departed to take over at FC DAC. Great move for him and I’m sure we all wish him well, he deserves the move. Kisvárda looked a bit lost without him, the confidence, pressing, flowing football we have got used to was missing. A permanent new head coach needs appointing sooner rather than later. Not the most inspiring Kisvárda performance. Gyirmót never gave up and Ikic Frane got the equaliser on 90+2. Deserved for Gyirmót.

In terms of decision making Káprály is decent, fitness and positioning fine as well. His match control is still something he needs to keep working on.  He has no idea how to speak to players and this gets backs up.  He appears fussy, officious and arrogant, I'm sure he's not but that's the image he portrays. He's still young and inexperienced, which shows quite often.  There's a really decent referee inside of him, he needs to just clam down a bit and grow in confidence.

Újpest 3-1 DVSC
Referee: Erdős József - red shirt
YC:5; YYR:0; RC:1; Pen:1

Entertaining game with 2 sides who like to play pretty football but are not so good at finding the back of the net! Normally! Beridze put Lilák ahead after 20 mins. Just 4 mins later up popped VAR & a lengthy review followed for a possible handball by Csongvai, referee Erdős József carried out an OFR and the penalty was awarded. Csongvai had his hand up in the air, arm extended straight – it was a handball within the LOTG and he can have no complaints. Dzsudzsák Balázs equalising for Loki. Loki had barely finished celebrating and Nikolic decided for some unknown reason to just push a Lilák player over, no attempt to play the ball. No reason for it, it was stupid and unnecessary and off he went for an early bath. A drama packed 14 min spell with 2 goals, a penalty and a red card – we can’t complain about a lack of entertainment. 1-1 at half time.

Second half started out the same but Kone scoring on 57 took the wind out of Loki’s sails. The pretty stuff continued until with 3 mins left on the clock there was a scrappy goal for Lilák. Initially credited to Diaby but then credited as a Deslandes own goal. Final score 3-1 to Lilák and a much needed 3 points. Still bottom but now just 2 points between Lilák & the safety zone.

As to team ref - lovely to see Erdős József out there on the pitch. Only his 2nd game of the season, he's done 15 games as VAR. Not sure if he may be carrying an injury but he's looking trimmer and more confident than I have ever seen him. 5 years ago he was a disaster zone, he was over weight, always out of position and his decision making was so random it was embarrassing! He has worked really hard to lose weight, get fitter and his refereeing has benefited from it. The last 2/3 seasons he has become a very steady safe pair of hands. Loved seeing it.  I felt in one way the red was a bit harsh but Nikolic just ran over & shoved whoever it was over, there had been no incident previously, there was no attempt to play the ball and it was simply player stupidity at it's finest! It was correct and deserved. József was looking happy, relaxed and full of confidence out there. The players responded well to him, lots of little chats and laughs.  Hope we get to see him a bit more often.

PS My team did one of those win thingys!

Ferencváros 3-0 Mol Fehérvár
Referee: Berke Balázs - blue shirt
4O: Solymosi Péter - black tracksuit top
YC:9; YYR:0; RC:1; Pen:1

I'm reduced to mainly 4O #SolymosiWatch this season.   Better than him being locked away in the VAR van.  Please Tóth I Vencel, show a girl some mercy. It's likely to be his last season so I'm pleading for a couple of middles, preferably one's where he can wear red. I'll take the 4O appointments though especially over VAR duties. That heartbreak day is edging nearer...

Thoroughly entertaining first half that Fradi dominated whilst barely breaking a sweat. Lovely goal from Zubakov to put them 1-0 up after 11 mins. Mmaee Ryan doubling the lead on 40. Vidi thought they should have had a penalty, Fradi player did grab Petryak’s shoulder, but he was also holding the Fradi player across the front. Petryak went down – no penalty. Lengthy VAR review agreed with the on field decision of the referee. The home crowd in good voice.

2nd half started out pretty much the same, Fradi dominating with ease and Vidi chasing shadows. Balint was shown a yellow for kicking his own player, albeit accidentally. He did catch him in the boy bits so a YC for that alone! Uzuni effectively killing the game off with Fradi’s 3rd goal on 58. Penalty to Fradi on 79. Clear cut – goalkeeper brought the player down. Upheld by VAR. Laidouni tried to be clever with a staggered run up and instead of putting the keeper off, he put himself off and blasted wide! Dreadful effort from him. Final incident of note – 90+3, Tokmac pulled back Funsho, Funsho responded by deliberately elbowing Tokmac in the face. Referee Berke having no hesitation with showing him a red. Funsho responded by trying to go for the referee, credit to his team mates for dragging him away, several times before getting him off the pitch – he can expect an extra ban for that disgraceful conduct. Tokmac was rightly shown a yellow for the original pull.

Fradi end Round 13 top of the league with a 3 point cushion and a game in hand. Felcsút in 2nd also have a game in hand. Worthy winners and look untouchable.

Berke is a great young ref. I'd put him 2nd behind Bognár to be honest. No point in counting Vad II anymore as we rarely actually see him! The downside to Berke is can adopt a bit of an aggressive stance at times & he's better than that.  He does have a good rapport with players and they seem to respect his decisions.  He's strict, players know this and are not surprised when they end up in the book.  Funsho however today was a disgrace. At least he stopped his whingy team from whinging, they were all too busy holding him back and trying to drag him off of the pitch!  One whingy moment from the Fradi bench, it was enough for the lovely Mr Solymosi to call the ref over. He ran over spoke to them briefly and trotted back off. The camera then showed Péter explaining something in more detail to the coaches. Best bit of the game as bmb got some Solymosi in her #SolymosiWatch!  Thank you for the lovely black tracksuit top Péter

Budapest Honvéd 3-0 MTK Budapest
Referee: Pintér Csaba - blue shirt
YC:4; YYR:0; RC:1; Pen:1

Not the most thrilling of first halves. It came alive in injury time for the wrong reasons, Baráth holding Haraszti, Haraszti holding Baráth in a head lock at waist level. Bit of pushing and shoving followed before Haraszti grabbed Baráth around the throat briefly with 1 hand. Correct red card for Haraszti and an equally correct yellow for Baráth. I am still trying to decide if Haraszti was brave or foolish, I love Baráth, he's my favourite thug, I'm surprised Haraszti is still alive!!

2nd half was more lively. Lukic heading Kispest into the lead on 47. MTK hadn’t given up and came close to equalising on 61. Silly trip by Ferreira on 67. saw a penalty to Kispest, VAR upheld the decision. Nagy Dominik putting Kispest 2-0 up. Kispest making the most of the extra man, contentedly kicking the ball to each other while MTK ran around in circles. Lukic put the match to bed in the 90th min with his 2nd and Kispest’s 3rd goal.

Kispest getting stronger as the season progresses and pretty play turning into wins and points. What of MTK though – their knee jerk sacking of Costantino really has come back to bite them. They have been on a downward spiral ever since. He had them playing pretty and disciplined but not always effective, now they have no shape and no discipline and have dropped from a respectable mid table position to 11th. Wonder if they are regretting their knee jerk decision yet…

Pintér Csaba is having a great season. I'd not be surprised if he wins the Ref of the Season award. He's always been a steady and safe pair of hands. Nothing spectacular, just quiet and clam in the background.  He's like Solymosi Péter just not as awesome! Steady reliable ref being steady and reliable! Dealt with the red card incident calmly with no fuss. He stood to the side, waved the rest of the players away before calling Haraszti and Baráth over. He gave Baráth the yellow first, he just shrugged, he expected it. He then showed Haraszti the red. He also knew, shrugged and strolled off the pitch muttering to himself. No dissent he was just peeved with the situation.

Round up of team ref

VadII lost control of his game yesterday - there's a shocker

Karakó completely lost the plot today! There's another shocker.

No issues with Solymosi Péter, Csonka Bence or Berke Balázs. A couple of random moments from Andó-Szabó Sándor but nothing major.

At its online meeting on Tuesday, the MLSZ presidency approved the championship and cup competitions for 2022-2023 and set the competition calendar. There is no significant change in the organization of the OTP Bank League, it will start with 12 teams, playing three rounds on the last weekend of July, at the same time as the second division, which will continue in two stages, first with 18 and then 16 teams. In addition to the Qatari World Championships in autumn, the season is also influenced by the fact that next spring the association will host the U17 European Championships in Hungary and the Europa League final in the Puskás Arena.

The board of MLSZ has still not stopped increasing the number of OTP Bank Liga members. In addition to the infrastructural development and financial stability that has already taken place, this is due to a significant increase in the quality of academic work, youth education and the proportion of Hungarian players. Until they are implemented, the current form of operation will remain in force.

In order to raise the standard of NB II, to intensify the fight and to increase the resources per team after the close of the next season, the men's second division will start with 18 clubs from 2023 and then with 16 teams from 2024, while NB III will also start From 2023-2024, four groups can also include 16-16 bands.

The development of women's football: the continuous increase in the number of players and the nationwide coverage of outstanding teams make it possible to increase the number of women's NB I to twelve teams, similar to men's. The championship is scheduled to start in August, as will the women’s NB II.

In the name of uniformity, the men's football championship will also be expanded to 12 teams, giving young talents a greater opportunity to introduce themselves and develop through high-quality racing.

In addition to this year's competition calendar, it has also been revealed that the MLSZ's regular annual delegates' meeting will be held on Friday, April 8, at 10 a.m. in Telki (GLOBALL Football Park & Sporthotel).

I have some news!  Nebojša (& I) resigned from FK Liepāja on Sunday/Monday. It has been announced today that he has signed an 18 month contract with Budapest Honvéd and I will of course be going with him as his welfare officer. We are an inseparable team. We're back home in Hungary and I am over the moon! Latvia was lovely & I enjoyed the adventure there but home is home! We leave having finished 3rd in the league last season & qualifying for the UEFA conference league & making the cup final, none of which looked possible when Nebojša took over there. 23 wins, 14 draws and 5 defeats. I'm a very happy Missy bmb today! Csak a Kispest!
