Lilák have forfeited their match this week due to coronavirus.  MTK refused to agree to a postponement last week even though we only had 7 1st team players available, DVTK refused permission this week even though we only have 2 1st team players available.

From M4sport - our national TV sports channel:

The football team of Újpest will not play on Friday at the home of Diósgyőr in the 10th round of the OTP Bank League - the capital's club announced.

Újpest FC, severely affected by the coronavirus epidemic, on Tuesday asked the Diósgyőr VTK for permission to postpone the two teams' Friday league match, citing that "only two or three players from the big team can stand next to the youngsters due to illness and injury".

The Miskolc club did not agree to the request due to the dense program and its pending league postponement, in addition, the band had previously had a postponed meeting in the Hungarian Cup.

The purple-whites also asked MTK Budapest to postpone their meeting last week, but the blue-whites did not agree to this, and then on Sunday they defeated the heavily reserved Újpest at the Szusza Ferenc Stadium by 4–0 .

The purple-and-white club said on Wednesday that it would not stand for the match in Miskolc scheduled for 8 p.m. on Friday.

“The coronavirus epidemic had already decimated the Újpest FC framework by the last round, but at that time we were still trying to fulfill our obligations in the match against MTK Budapest, even though we already had only 7 players from the 25th frame who could produce a negative virus test. . By yesterday, the numbers showed an even worse picture. Of the 25 frames submitted to MLSZ, 2 players could only produce a negative test, and several of the players brought from our U19 team in Sunday's match also produced a positive test. ”

Újpest's statement emphasizes that they understand that DVTK did not accept the postponement for fear that they might be disadvantaged as a result. “Újpest FC is committed to making the tournament run smoothly, not to miss matches, but this is already an extreme situation. We don't want anyone to be in this situation. "

The club decided not to stand up against DVTK on Friday, given the rate of infection within the team. “Neither the opposing team, nor our even negative players, young people, can be put in such danger. This is the only way to prevent the spread and further infection. At the weekend we even said that Újpest would not give away 3 points without a fight, but in this case the fight is not on the field and the health of our players, the future of further matches is at stake. ”

Újpest submitted the official application to the Hungarian Football Association, which is expected to award the three points to DVTK with a goal difference of 3–0.
