How to spot Missy bmb is firmly on Mr Puhl's naughty step...

Mr Solymosi wearing y****w 3 times in 5 days, followed by Karakó on the 1st leg of the Kupa semi finals, followed by the y****w wearing Vad for the 2nd leg of the Magyar Kupa semi final!

Harsh Mr Puhl, harsh. Not sharing my pálinka with him ever again....

the y****w wearing Vad for the 2nd leg of the Magyar Kupa semi final!

As inept as ever, still at least he turned up unlike my team! He was our best defender by a mile tonight, several minor errors & mostly in my teams favour, not that it helped them, they'd have had to have been on the pitch for that phenomenon to occur!

Thought our captain, Lita summed it up well post match when he said "It's been a crisis since weeks, not sure what we were expecting. It's difficult to give an interview in a calm manner. We play s**t since weeks, pardon my language. We don't win duels, give the ball away often, we can't do like this! Our opponent could have scored 5-6 goals from our mistakes and we're doing this since weeks! Everyone has to dig deep and think about it because this won't be enough. We need to fight and we are not doing that now"

Dear Lord of football it was a very depressing Magyar Kupa evening. Roll on the league on Saturday! Hopefully #SolymosiWatch will clash with Lilák and come with a red shirt thrown in for good measure! Give me something to smile about at least! I'll settle for a black wearing Erdős, that would raise a half a smile...

I don't think there is enough pálinka in the world...

So Mr Solymosi on AAR duties again - hopefully an indication that he is on punishment for breaking Missy bmb's heart and wearing y****w 3 times in 5 days! He certainly deserves to be on punishment! Mr Erdős has the pleasure of my Lilák, the lucky, lucky man! Let's hope my boys have finally woken up to the fact the season has re-started and they turn up for this game! The delights of Mr Karakó for my Kispest, deep joy, I guess it will be Vad next week then if the Kupa pattern is followed!  ::)

I'll settle for a black wearing Erdős, that would raise a half a smile...

A black wearing Erdős it was! My team turned up as well - mostly anyway! Correct pen in our favour & my sweet Soma (Novothny) got his gól for Néni. He had another goal disallowed later in the game for a perfectly correct offside call by Lémon. 3 absolutely vital points and tonights pálinka can be celebratory instead of drowning my sorrows!

Bognár, Berke & Karakó all in blue. Pillók on the naughty step - again! Iványi in red. Karakó giving each side a penalty in a 1-1 draw. Pillók providing the now customary weekly red card, correct call on a DOGSO red. Last time we had a red free weekend was Match day 15 - 7th/8th December 31 yellows 0 reds! 7 consecutive sets of matchdays with a least 1 red card! We have a little wager running in the press box as to when the next red free matchday will be!

One final thing for today:

2 év. Nyugodj békében Bence. A szívem csak újra eltört. Mi sosem felejtunk el. Az Ő szíve pihen, a miénk vérzik, a fájdalmat csak az élők érzik. / 2 years. Rest in peace Bence. My heart just broke again. We will never forget. His heart is resting, ours are bleeding, the pain is only felt by the living.   :'( :'(

I think I deserve a red wearing #SolymosiWatch on Lilák next week Mr Puhl... Been a hard day emotionally.

Just to point out it was Szalai with the correct offside call to rule out the 2nd Lilák goal not Lémon.  He had an extremely tight one (as in mm) not long after which I also believe he called spot on.

Mr Karakó actually gave 3 penalties, all perfectly correct decisions. 1st one for Kispest was saved/missed. One of those - it was taken dreadfully and my great great granny could have saved it so never know whether to describe those as saved or missed! Pleased to see him get the important calls correct. His YC procedure needs urgent reviewing though - it still sucks! He followed Varga around from behind him and eventually showed a YC to his back - correct yellow but the player was completely unaware that he had been booked until a team mate pointed it out to him. Silly stuff like that ruins what was a good performance with some excellent decision making.

It's so lovely to see Eszter Urbán back. First appearance since 22nd September 2018!! As that works out at 75 weeks ago and maternity leave in Hungary is for 72 weeks I assume she has been on maternity leave. Her lovely smile has been missed. Another one of our talented females who imo should be refereeing NBI games along with Katalin Kulcsár.

NBI debut for Aradi József. Nice to see another new face.

Happy bmb #SolymosiWatch is on my Lilák - we will see if I also get my also wished for red shirt!

Red shirt & a red whistle to match!

Excellent performance as well, my team lost but there were 2 cracking goals - one for each team.

Talking of red, Missy bmb is one of just 2 remaining in the red card sweepstake after today's 3 red cards! 1 hour left of the Fradi v Loki game so todays total still has time to increase!

1st leg of the Magyar Kupa quarter finals concluded last night. Watched 2 very differing games. The first was a very dreadful, dull, dire 0-0 draw - I only persisted as it was my Kispest playing, well they were on the pitch, not sure playing would be the right word, even a smiley Mr Iványi was unable to inject any form of life into the game. He did very well however to remain awake for the full 90 mins. He could easily have a dragged an armchair out into the centre circle and settled himself down with a book, his pipe and slippers and he'd have not missed a thing! It. was. dreadful! He did wear black though so 10/10 for that and had his very smiley face on so he can have another 10/10 for that. Hope the 2nd leg next week is better!

ZTE v Vidi was a much better watch. Lively and entertaining, like a cup tie should be. ZTE are currently 11th, Vidi sorry MOL Fehérvár are 2nd with 22 points separating them in the league. ZTE were deserved 2-0 winners - the goal from Ikobe was a thing of beauty, curled into the top corner, Kovacsik didn't stand a chance. He's not been starting (Ikoba not Kovacsik obviously!) and I think he dared the new ZTE manager to not give him a chance with that cracker last night! 2nd goal from Hegedus. Demjén, ZTE's keeper is the national team U21 keeper & what a keeper he is. He made some cracking saves last night, can't wait to see this kid in the 1st team - he's very special, we just need 10 outfielders to go with him!!!

The game was refereed very well overall by Bence Csonka (red shirt). He remains an exciting prospect. Unfortunately in bmb's opinion he missed a clear red on Fiola. Fiola did get a yellow but I don't think Mr Csonka was in a position to see all of the incident or he would have issued a red. He's not a referee who will shy away from making a big call. Radó was sat on the floor and Fiola grabbed him by the back of the neck & started to pull him up, I think that is the part Mr Csonka would have been unable to see as players would have been obstructing his view and as the 2 players involved would have been facing him it was on his blindside. As Radó got up, Fiola then went head to head with him, it was very aggressive & could have warranted a red on its own merit. I could go with a yellow if that was all there was to it but it wasn't. Disgraceful conduct from an older, experienced National Team player who really should know better. Not sure if it can be dealt with retrospectively (Hungary is a law unto itself in those terms) but I hope it is and an upgraded to the red it should have been and he gets a deserved ban for it. One where VAR would/could have been of use! Our disciplinary committee though is excellent to be fair to them and if the full incident was picked up by the observer or is picked up on reviewing the game there is a chance they will look at it and deal with it. It caused a stir with the commentators and this is likely to have it reviewed by someone in the Ivory Towers. Whatever else we may get wrong in Hungary our disciplinary committee is an example of how to do it right, every incident is quickly dealt with on individual merit and apart from a standard 1 match ban for a YYR the ban is variable. They also support and defend the referees. A couple of seasons ago when a player went head to head with Csaba Pintér who was referee it was a 4 month ban, he was also immediately sacked by his club for it. I love how our discipline works and the English FA would do well to take a note...

If ZTE go down then they will have been the best team in the NBI to end up relegated, they are a great team to watch, play some lovely football but they have struggled to find any luck since promotion - personally I'd rather Paks in 10th go down than ZTE but this is the NBI and with 10 games to go the only certainty is that Kaposvár will be relegated! Good riddance as well, their coach is a bore, starts every interview with yeah but the referee... His lack of tactics are to blame for their league position but as he takes no responsibility for it nothing will change! Fradi should win the league, 3 points clear with 2 games in hand & Rebrov is a fantastic coach but they suffered an unexpected heavy defeat in the league last weekend so...

So it would appear that Missy bmb's spell on the naughty step is officially over! After last week's lovely SolymosiWatch on the Lilák game, complete with red shirt & matching red whistle. Game 297 for him - that magic 300 is creeping up way too soon!

#SolymosiWatch came with a black shirt & black whistle today. I'm sure he could have worn red but I'm not going to complain about it!!

Paks 0-0 Budapest Honvéd - Solymosi Péter (black shirt)

About on par with the midweek Kupa game, slightly less dire & it did come with #SolymosiWatch which is enough excellence on it's own ;) Decent performance from team ref, his positioning was a bit off 3/4 times & he was a bit close to play but nothing major. Beyond having to decide which shirt to wear to keep Missy bmb happy I don't think he had a decision to make! Game was cardless - none were needed. He did wear long sleeves - the wimp!

DVTK 2-1 Újpest - Erdős József (black shirt)

I feel a bit for Mr Erdős - he's not well liked in District IV or on our travels! It has to be said straight away, it is not his fault that our players are completely clueless when it comes to Law 11! 2/3 weeks ago he correctly disallowed a goal for offside and then today it was 2. Both decisions were correct - Szert Balázs spot on with his flag both times. Takács János was trying to tell the players & stop them celebrating but to no avail! Literally seconds after a press friend texted me to say he was going to win the red card sweepstake today up steps Balázs Benjamin, takes one for the team & wins Missy bmb the red card sweepstakes! Perfectly correct red for DOGSO. Cries of fix from said press friend in District IX, although one of his team was later sent off so I'd have won either way! Excellent performance from Mr Erdős - hope he left his copy of the LOTG behind open on Law 11 for my players though! We did not deserve to lose 1-2 but have no-one to blame but ourselves.

Puskás Akadémia 1-4 Mol Fehérvár - Pintér Csaba (blue shirt)

One of my small screen games & only seen the highlights. Not sure what Hegedus was bleating on about after Fehérvár's 3rd goal. He seemed to be trying to claim the ball had been taken out of his hands. He had pushed it to one side, one of his defenders made a hash of it & Nikolics said thank you very much, bosh back of the net! No problem with the goal at all - maybe he should have caught the ball instead of pushing it away! Nothing flagged up in the highlights so well done Mr Pintér.

Kaposvári Rákóczi 0-4 Mezőkövesd Zsóry - Csonka Bence (red shirt)

17 points from safety, 9 games to go. Not mathematically down but Kaposvár are down! It is all the referees fault, every single defeat, every yellow & red card so may I congratulate Csonka Bence on his 4 goals for Mezokovesd today Quite an achievement to do so while faultlessly refereeing the match as well.  Told you he was talented! On the refereeing side his positioning was excellent, decision making consistent and fair, fitness is outstanding. Hope he can keep progressing as is. Got the penalty call for goal 3 spot on, just a yellow card, no DOGSO element - there were only 3 players in the penalty area, the Mezo striker, Kaposvar defender & goalie. I like Pogacsics, their goalie, he spends 85mins per match asking his defence what the ^%^$Ł they were doing and the other 5 mins picking the ball out of the net! Hope he signs for a decent team after Kaposvar go down, would love to see him with a decent defence.

DVSC 1-0 Kisvárda Master Good - Berke Balázs (black shirt)

Moment of sheer genius/beauty from Varga Kevin won this one today. Easy for Berke to stay anonymous, he wasn't needed! Both teams were impeccably behaved.

ZTE 1-1 Ferencváros - Karakó Ferenc (black shirt)

Now don't go getting over excited or anything but Mr Karakó put in a decent performance. Today he showed why he is considered a talent & a performance like today is what we should be seeing every single week from one of our FIFA referees. 3 big calls in the game & he got them all spot on. Penalty shout for ZTE - denied. I agree. Hard one for him. Fradi defender was trying to pull his arm out of the way, ball was hit at him from close range, arm not in unnatural position to start with, no way was it deliberate, if any contact occurred and it was not conclusive if it did or not. Even on replay you can't work out if it hit his side or just caught his arm. Can support the ref's call. Would have been very harsh to give that as a pen. It did highlight one reason we are nowhere near ready for VAR - the quality of replays are terrible! 2nd penalty shout for ZTE - correctly given. Easier call, it was a foul, it was obvious! The final big call was whether a foul by Civic warranted a yellow, which was a 2nd yellow - correct to give it & the subsequent red.  Deserved draw for ZTE.

Have to add I really did feel for them today, it's their 100 year anniversary and they did this amazing countdown to 19mins 20 seconds so the clock was showing 19.20 when the fans unveiled a fantastic 100 year banner/tifo. Fradi took the lead 30 seconds later while the fans were still holding the anniversary thing up so proudly :( It felt very harsh & mean!

Solymosi Péter (black shirt)

He did wear long sleeves - the wimp!

Or to put it another way:

He did wear long sleeves, being the smart elegant person he is.

I am sure if ever put to him he will prefer your version to mine!

There was a moment in the game where one of the players kicked the ball in a bit of anger after it had run out of play and it rebounded off of a back wall to where Mr Solymosi was between the 6 yard box & pen area lines. He flipped it up, with his foot and kicked it out to the corner for the corner to be taken - me at the time, well with those ball skills you can see why he is a referee and not a player - today's national sports paper - Solymosi demonstrated excellent ball skills with a deft flick of the ball before kicking it out to the player waiting to take a corner! I'm his biggest fan - honest!  ;D

He makes his debut as AAR2 to the experienced Erdős József. 27 year old Hanyecz Bence from Békés County has also been a regular NBII & NBIII referee since 1st July 2017. He makes his debut as AAR2 to Berke Balázs. Good Luck gents.

Anyone who is desperate need of a football fix (and you need to be desperate to resort to watching the NBI!!!  ;D) let me know and I will give you the completely legal links to the games.  They will all be streamed live on M4sport.hu free of charge, as they are every week.  I shall be watching from the comfort of my armchair this week despite our manager asking if I wanted to be on the approved entry list! My pre-match 'Néni loves you & is proud of you' speech can just as easily be done via Skype & often is. I did however promise him that for every shot of pálinka I pour myself, I will also pour him one and being the good friend that I am I shall drink it for him as well ;)

Important stat of the day:

Black shirts: The lovely Mr Solymosi, Mr Iványi & Mr Pillók
Red shirt: Mr Erdős
Y****w: Vad - like I need another reason to dislike him...
Blue: Mr Berke

Thank you Mr Berke for keeping the red card sweepstake going! I have already won it but every week those already knocked out have to chuck their fine into the pot until we reach the the week predicted by the last person standing (me). When that week arrives as winner it is my choice of charity that receives the contents of the pot as a donation. My prediction is we will have a red card every week this season/half season! The press boys all laughed at me & who won... I'm sure the Hungarian Children's Cancer Foundation (Gyermekrák Alapítvány Közhasznú Szervezet) will appreciate the donation. Fun way for us to do some good.
