Disgraceful article in the Hungarian Spectrum alleging corruption in the DVSC v Mezokovesd game.
https://hungarianspectrum.org/2020/06/29/the-puskas-academy-fc-will-compete-in-the-europa-league-how-and-at-what-cost/Where to even start with the inaccuracies!
- "The game turned out to be very strange. Sándor Andó-Szabó, the referee, ruled that three Loki goals were invalid" - it was 2 for Mezokovesd and 1 for Loki. 2 offside calls which were perfectly correct, 1 for each team. The other goal disallowed is more subjective, personally I would have given it, as I said above I think goalkeepers are over protected but there was a foul on him and the decision was correct within the LOTG.
- "and allowed a Mezőkövesd goal, which in the slow motion replay proved to be offside." - It was Loki who scored! Varga was offside by around 2mm, the ball never reached as far as him, Garba scored from 2-3 feet to his left, he wasn't interfering with the gk line of vision, there was a defender on him, there was one on Garba as well! Not 100% convinced even VAR would have ruled it out. Even if they had it was so marginal that there is no way on earth the AR (Theodoros Georgiou) would have been able to determine that in the split second of real time that he had to make the decision - indeterminable to the naked eye.
- They basically call a referee corrupt for correctly, within the the LOTG, disallowing 3 goals! Just laughable!
- They reference Kuttor as Loki's coach - he is the coach of Mezokovesd!
- They state that Loki have had previous problems with the referee which hardly fits their narrative that he deliberately favoured them to get one over on Mezokovesd in this match.
- Completely ignored the fact that Felcsút (Orbán) virtually bought Vidi II to get a better starting base for their push.
