#SolymosiWatch was in black, Andó-Sabó in yellow again & Mr Pillók in blue.

Pretty much a masterclass from Mr Pillók, played 1 advantage to Lilák that should have been a free kick to Kispest. Not a game changer but the only thing he got wrong. Vital 3 points for my Lilák.

4 cracking goals in the first 2 games and a real fantastic derby to round off the night.

Kaposvár were officially relegated today, they will not be missed.

In for a nice treat tomorrow...  :-\

What a treat it was!

Mr Vad caused carnage, was inconsistent but hey he wore red!  First incident, player offside, AR flagged, he ignored it, goalkeeper leapt up for the ball, collided with 2 players who banged heads with each other as a result and went down, he allowed play to carry on still.  It was well over 30 seconds before he finally stopped play and gave the free kick for the offside which was now about 1 minute previously.  He sent the 2 players off the pitch after they had received treatment (one from each side). 4th official gave a clear indication to the lad from ZTE that he could go back on the pitch, he did so and caught up with play, as soon as he did so and touched the ball Vad booked him for entering the field without his permission.  Caused absolute uproar with every single player and the benches. Don't know whether it was his fault or the 4O fault but the 4O had clearly sent the lad back on & he should not have been booked for match official error. Vad lost any respect for the rest of the game from both sets of players.

Mr Karakó (in black) on the other hand had a fairly decent game. Few little incidents where interactions between him and players were a bit tetchy, he does not have their respect and it shows. His decision making was fine though and he was pretty consistent.

Tomorrows games:

Kisvárda Master Good v Mezőkövesd Zsóry
2020.06.09 - 16:55
Kisvárda, Kisvárdai Várkerti Stadion
Referee: Bogár Gergő
4O:Csatári Tibor
AR: Horváth Róbert, Becséri Gergely
AAR: Andó-Szabó Sándor, Lovas László

Újpest V DVSC
2020.06.09 - 19:00
Budapest, Szusza Ferenc Stadion
Referee: Berke Balázs
4O: Horváth Zoltán (F)
AR: Georgiou Theodoros, Garai Péter
AAR: Karakó Ferenc, Takács János

Budapest Honvéd v Mol Fehérvár
2020.06.09 - 21:05
Budapest, Új Hidegkuti Nándor Stadion
Referee: Csonka Bence
4O: Márkus Tamás
AR: Medovarszki János, Bornemissza Norbert
AAR: Pintér Csaba, Szilágyi Sándor

Huge 6 pointer between Újpest v DVSC. Loki are currently in the other relegation spot. There are 9 points between DVTK in 4th and Debrece in 11th, 18 still to play for so technically anyone from 4th down to 11th could be relegated still. Kisvarda are in 7th with 3 points more so the 2nd spot is more likely to go to them or one of the teams below them - ZTE (same points as Kisvarda), Újpest or Paks, both of whom only have 1 more point than Loki.  Pleased with Berke for the game, he is very strong & consistent with his application of the LOTG.

To add.

1st place earns a Champions League qualifying place.

2nd & 3rd place each earn a Europa League qualify place.

Magyar Kupa win earns the 3rd Europa League qualifying place. *Unless the cup winners also finish in the top 3, the 3rd Europa league qualifying spot would then go to whoever finishes in 4th. Not relevant this season as Budapest Honvéd have won the Magyar Kupa and are highly unlikely to finish in the top 3.

11th & 12th are both relegated to the NBII.

Mr Erdős & Mr Bognár (on his 200th NBI game) both in blue.

Looked like a key match error from Mr Erdős - ZTE player clearly had his legs taken from under him in the box, should have been a penalty but he gave a free kick to DVTK & booked the ZTE lad. Shame because he has been refereeing well this season. Hope it doesn't dent his confidence.  Game ended 1-1 with DVTK having been expected to win.

In the important game the lovely Mr Solymosi wore red & had his matching red whistle! Happy bmb!

Vad in blue this evening and has put in a competent performance so far. 5 mins to go.

The game was temporarily suspended due to an epic thunder storm - he was very very quick to get the teams off of the pitch, it was an absolute beauty of a storm! Once the lightning passed he brought them back out - he looked like a drowned rat by the time he reached the byline from the tunnel.  Has refereed sensibly since and made some allowance for a very wet and slippery pitch.

More competent performances like this please Mr Vad

Very disappointingly no response to my email to the Federation regarding the welfare of referees in terms of rehydration during matches. Measures have been put in place for players with the mandatory drinks breaks but no such measures for match officials.  It was 29°c in Budapest on Saturday, all of the players were given rehydration around the halfway mark in each half. Nothing for Mr Pintér as referee in the game during the hottest spell, nor for his 2 AAR's who were standing directly in the sun during that heat. Mr Pintér was absolutely dripping in sweat, goodness knows how much hydration he lost but I was seriously concerned for his well being more than once during the game due to it. Having had a referee die during fitness tests the summer before last due to this very issue I would have thought our Federation would be more on the ball with this - seems not though & lessons have clearly not been learned. Shame on you MLSZ, I thought you better than this.

I have since had a response basically saying that the referees are adults and can choose to rehydrate if they wish and the 4th official can bring out water for them from the dressing room.  That's fair enough but it's not happening & that is concerning especially in the heat like we had at the weekend. Also this may well help the referee but the 2 AARs are not allowed to leave their position behind the goals, as far as I know, so how would they get access to the water? They also say they cannot make it obligatory, yet have done just that for the players so I can't understand the difference. Maybe UEFA need to issue a directive for it to happen. Respect to the JB for taking the time to respond and explain their position though.
