If I'm not mistaken, this will be Daniel Middleton's debut in the EFL overseeing Sutton v Crewe. Won't be there but all the best to him and his team on Saturday.

Always thought Daniel Middleton was one of the better ones at NL level. Surprised he hasn't had a chance earlier.

Don't know why it has just came to me, why was Paul Marsden dropped from EFL as man in the middle? Poor performances? Anyone know?

Daniel Middleton was reffing NL games when TRFC were at that level. Agree that it's a surprise it's taken him so long to get a FL game, he seemed a safer pair of hands than a couple who've been promoted ahead of him.

It was quite a surprise that Paul Marsden was marked highly enough to get 4O to Neil Hair in the 2018 NL play-off final. Think only saw him once when on the FL list, didn't stand out in a negative way.

I think Lee Collins was due to fitness, or lack thereof. I saw Paul Marsden twice. In one game he let too much go and lost control. In the other he sent off a Doncaster player after an opponent feigned injury in an incident Marsden couldn't see properly because of his positioning. It was a second yellow, so we couldn't appeal.

Failed to award a penalty for a wrestling hold! Although to be fair, he was watching the ball played into penalty area and by the time his eyes got there, it was almost all over. The AR behind the goal would have spotted it 😝 (which was, of course, the angle BT kept playing it from)

Just saw him once in his two year stint as a Football League referee - an FA Cup match Southend 2 Barnsley 4.

He was pretty poor, I'm afraid.
