Decent game for Smith with the Yorks derby. Also a decent appoitntment for Sam Barrott, especially given the travelling. I feel as though he has been close to promotion in recent times - perhaps this could be his year?

Shocking performance from Tom Nield at Crewe this afternoon. He was glaringly inconsistent throughout, punishing trifling offences and letting some 'agricultural' tackles go unpunished. In the 2nd half, I lost count of the number of yellow cards he waved about. OK, he got the Crewe 1st half penalty right, pity about the outcome, and he  gave us an amusing moment when he yellow carded the ever-charming Mr Evans on the advice of 4O Ross Joyce. But the less said about the rest, the better!

How Steve Evans isn’t red carded often is a mind boggling mystery to all.

Would totally agree with the comments about Tom Nield he was poor two cynical  challenges in the first half by the Stevenage defender just a free-kick for the first one, and a word with him after the second.  In the first half a Crewe player was tackled from behind on the edge of the Stevenage penalty area and gave a yellow card when he was the last defender. Was correct with the penalty, but Stevenage had a strong  penalty claim a few minutes later which he turned down, i could understand why Stevenage bench were not happy from my position looked  a clear penalty. Mr Nield has history with Crewe, but never the less his overall performance was below the standard expected. I thought he would have yellow carded the Stevenage Assistant who stood questioning every decision he gave during the game, instead gave it to Steve Evans, who for most of the game sat down.
It must be said he was poor for both teams, but to be fair to Stevenage on there second half performance they deserved to win the game

An admirable assessment, thanks. Yes, I remember now, it was Tom Nield who gave Plymouth a joke penalty 2-3 years back which could have resulted in Crewe missing out on promotion from L2! I agree about Stevenage being the better side. But if you miss a penalty and give a goal away, you can't expect to get anything out of the game!

It's not a mystery - the officials are not doing their jobs properly.

Sunny Gill was generally very good at Stockport v Wimbledon. Alongside Sam Barrott the best ref at Edgeley Park this year
