I wonder whether he will be sticking in L1 and L2. A gentle introduction to the season for the 'golden oldie'? Let's hope Mr Evans doesn't have cause to pontificate about him at the end of the game.

Any comments on Mr Hair please? I predicted we may see one of the newbies getting an opportunity in L1 and we do indeed. Usual suspects on the lines. And a fairly standard set of appointments with Mr East on the big game of the weekend.

Kettlewatch at Coventry for a change....

I hope Marc Perry has his earplugs working well to stem the tirade of abuse from that vile creature Evans. He claimed in midweek when he was being interviewed by Bianca Westwood that he had mellowed in the last few months...

Neil Hair presumably finished top of the NL ratings, despite having a nightmare in the Sutton v Bromley game, was brave enough to send Rovers’ Liam Ridehalgh off in the first minute of the play-off final and also sent Notts County manager Harry Kewell off at the weekend, for what seemed minor in comparison to the antics of say a Steve Evans. Haven’t seen enough of Mr Hair in action to predict how he’ll do.

Thanks, however with young officials, I try to remain open minded. I have seen on occasions they try a bit too hard, if it's there first game in that league, although we have also seen Rob Jones. Despite our 0-4 defeat, he was a breath of fresh air and you knew he was going onto big things.

By my estimation, the following refs on the League list for 2018/9 have not yet appeared in League matches:

Adcock (SG2), Brown, Clark, Handley, Horwood, Ilderton, Stroud and Woolmer.

Based on previous track records, the only surprise here imo is Darren Handley.

I’ve seen Handley doing some observing this season and I think he is a CORE coach too which may explain his absence. I’m sure brown has retired. Clark, Horwood are injury prone refs, don’t know about ilderton Stroud and obviously Woolmer getting on a bit

Well he's binned two Blackpool players in injury time it seems. Sounds like an explosive end to the game.

Andy Woolmer took over (late?) as 4O at Bristol City yesterday.
