Neil Hair thoroughly deserves all the big games he gets but I am little mystified by the notion that 7th v 5th in League One in an empty stadium is big game.

Neil Hair rarely disappoints. A referee, in my opinion, destined for the top.
Why do you both have such a positive view of Mr Hair? He was in the middle for Rovers v Bolton recently and can't say he made much impression either way, aside from what seemed quite a harsh double yellow card sending off for Bolton's Delaney.

Crewe fans will not lightly forget Neil Hair's wretched performance in their game at Plymouth in L2 last season, culminating in a joke penalty award which helped Plymouth to win 2-1. Fortunately both teams were promoted at the end of the truncated season.

To be fair to Neil Hair it was Tom Nield who had a blinder in the Plymouth v Crewe game last season.

Probably seen him a dozen plus times live (incl some non-league) - he's always looked the part and generally performed rather well. Sadly "not making much impression either way" is a way above average accolade. In the land of the blind .....

Crewe v Portsmouth off tomorrow due to frozen pitch. Slightly surprised as it's been cold here but no snow or ice. Oxford v Wigan moved to Sunday. Eight games already off in L2, more to follow?

I would think most games are at risk of being iced off..... it’s already -5 here in Eastbourne when I left work at 20.00!

A pity given that the fixture congestion is building up with Covid problems....

On the plus side, Kettle will be top of the highlights for league 2 this weekend!

Darren Drysdale looks like he had an interesting evening at Ipswich v Northampton. One off and he appears to go to head to head with Judge. Pictures don't show him in a very professional manner. Hopefully someone who was watching can enlighten us.

It doesn't look good.  https://twitter.com/i/status/1361781680328081410

That said, it is difficult times for everyone at the moment and there is a lot more irrational behaviour than would normally be seen.  There's no reason to think that referees are exempt from that and perhaps this incident just flipped him over the edge.

Oh dear. Not good I am afraid. You could tell be his face he was annoyed.
Player on player for attempted headbut? 3 game ban?
Why do I think Darren will get more?

As soon as I saw it, I thought at least 3, 4 or 5 game ban
