May I be permitted to raise an eyebrow at the appointment to such an important game of Darren Drysdale  just a few weeks after the happenings at Ipswich?

Interesting appointments especially the one already mentioned above.
I was under the impression that SG2 officials did the League 1 play offs, is this a change in policy this season or has this happened before?

Again no real surprises except that Coy has certainly not be particularly noticed ( by me at anyrate ) but clearly doing very well. A mixture of old hands and more fresh faces. Inevitably there will be a few disappointed referees today I imagine.

The 4th Official appointments also tell you quite a bit about who is in favour. I'm surprised not to see Marc Edwards feature anywhere....yet !

Nobody got hurt and Darren 'served his sentence' without comment or seeking to lay the blame elsewhere, and that imho marked the end of an unfortunate blemish in the long career of one of the FL's most experienced refs. As an aside, I'm wondering whether the semi at Tranmere will mark the end of Darren's long career. It has happened before.

Darren gets a play-off appointment and Alan Judge didn't even play the last few weeks of the season as Ipswich didn't want to trigger an extension to his contract.

I didn't believe in karma until now.....

I’m trying to think who may referee the League 2 play off final now. Most of the ones I would have picked out are refereeing semi finals which I assume rules them out.

Would we assume that the top two referees were Hicks and Madley based on the fact they have League 1 games, and would this suggest that one of those would referee the League 2 final?

Four Nottinghamshire Assistants on the play offs!

I'm telling you, living in the Midlands, where north is as near as south, but colder, has something going for it!

I have a house to let in Wollaton..... 😄

I would say that's a fairly safe assumption.

Going by the practice of recent seasons I would suggest none of those mentioned will get any of the play off finals
I cant see, unless I need a visit to Specsavers, that any of the semi-final refs from the last few years has also been given a final. None of the final refs seem to have been involved in that same years semis so if the same format is kept we should be looking for 3 new names

Interesting, thanks. So based on that who would you think? Maybe Langford for L1 and Backhouse or Edwards for L2 maybe?

If Langford gets it (which is a distinct possibility) I will personally write to Mike Riley demanding he immediately resign!
