First game of the season, I believe, for SG2 Scott Duncan at Stevenage, but no sign of James Adcock again. Key midweek game in L2 for Lee Swabey, Exeter v Crewe.

I'm sure that won't be the only game off if everywhere else is getting the kind of deluge we have had down here on the south coast! I don't mind the high winds and rain though, where I live I have a sea view and just love watching storms out at sea - always makes me in utter awe of mother nature!

Some of the floods about have been awful and with storm after storm there seems to be no let up. I feel so sorry for those affected by them, I've been there & know how soul destroying it can be. It's normally us Southern softies who get the rain and flooding while the northerners get the snow that we luckily seem to normally miss out on! I presume it's Storm Jorge battering us right now - the wind is mental! My poor dog got blown over & is now refusing to step outside for his night time wee! Southern softie or not I admit I love a good storm, there's something rather amazing when sitting on my balcony watching the sea being lit up by a flash of lightning. Mother nature is awesome but destructive.

Left home at 0600hrs, didn't have confirmation that the match was going ahead until 1230hrs, by that time we were in a pub in Louth (on the non alcoholic lagers).
The pitch was in surprisingly good condition, that and the wind didn't affect the game at all with bright sunshine throughout the game.
I've seen now that James Oldham replaced Christopher Pollard, he showed a tremendous level of fitness and was always in close proximity whenever there was anything contentious which prevented/reduced any chances of argument or dissent.  He could have shown a couple of yellows for each side in addition to the one he did, but managed both situations without, although the observer may not have agreed.
He also wasn't conned by our skippers tendency to fall over and grabbing the ball when defending towards his own corner flag, following the slightest of touches from the forward.  He awarded a free kick for hand ball and hopefully it makes our man stop doing it in the future, because it is embarrassing....
Got back home at 2200hrs, very happy with the result...
