Seems a lengthy journey for the possible sub.Sure they have a possible 4th official closer to hand.
If that was in reference to Thomas Bramall, Brett Huxtable is also making a lengthy journey to be a fourth offical (Colchester). The previous three matches that James Adcock has been appointed as referee they have ensured that a National List referee is the fourth official.
Strange, Brett Huxtable was due to referee at Colchester on 2nd March but Trevor Kettle took his place. Now he is due to return as 4O. I may be quite wrong but I'm wondering whether he is still based in Devon?
It's not just Colchester - his matches this calendar year include Stevenage, Gillingham, Charlton, Leyton Orient and a couple of Northern treks. Only one anywhere near to Devon was Oxford.
Still based in Devon, as far as I'm aware, but as I've posted a few times, travelling distances (and expenses) don't seem to be an issue in the lower leagues anymore.
At Rochdale this season we've had Gavin Ward, Sam Allison and David Rock, while there are more long trips tomorrow - Ben Toner (Darwen to AFC Wimbledon), Carl Brook (Sussex to Blackpool), Graham Salisbury (Preston to Colchester), Chris Sarginson (Staffs to Crawley to referee a Staffs team!) and Will Finnie (Luton to Tranmere). The latter actually means Tranmere's last three home games have been refereed by officials from Bury St Edmunds, London and Luton!
