Lot of fixtures to mull through but Robert Madley has a top of the table clash between MKD and Wigan in L1 whilst Anthony Backhouse has the basement clash, Doncaster v Gillingham. Alan Young with the key Scunthorpe v Colchester match towards the bottom of L2. Good to see Trevor Kettle back in action again and visits to Rochdale for Chris Sarginson and the Surrey 'card shark'.

Second time this season for the Surrey card shark. He was excellent last time versus Tranmere.

Is Ms Welch injured at the moment? Haven’t seen her name for a few weeks, I could be mistaken of course. I always look out for a few names to see if fixtures are progressing with bigger games, especially now we are approaching the dreaded business end and Ms Welch is of course one of those. She just doesn’t seem to referee at all regularly in the EFL which I find baffling

Would that potentially not hinder her in terms of wanting promotion up the EFL list as she is refereeing so few games?
Clearly the standard of the EFL is higher than that of WSL (that is no offence meant to the WSL of course but clearly that is the case)…so surely more EFL games would benefit her progression more?
Does she have to do so many womens games to keep her FIFA badge perhaps?

She certainly has to be refereeing regularly in the WSL to maintain her FIFA badge but I agree on the point of whether or not it may hinder her development on the EFL.  Must be quite a hard balance to progress in both the men's and women's games and as FIFA have changed the rules in the last year or 2 about being able to appear on both lists perhaps they need to update their requirements to reflect this so that those who do wish progress in both can do so
