A lovely piece on BBC NW News last night about a pitch inspection carried out at Ramsbottom yesterday lunchtime by (?) local ref Matt Pope, as the match referee, Joe Hull - a Stockport teacher - was not available until 4pm. Tall dark chap with a regulation five o'clock shadow, Matt rather grudgingly (imo) confirmed that the game v AFC Fylde was on 'for the moment', and it was probably just as well it was, the game ending 5-5
