Not sure why we need Moss on our game at Bristol City…

That would have been a perfect game for an up and coming NL official to handle… even Bobby Madley would have been a perfectly good fit.

No surprise Oliver has the prime time Monday evening offerings…

By Oliver’s game I presume you mean the clash between a mid table Midlands team and Manchester’s 3rd rate team? 🤪

My take on Rebecca Welch's appointment is that, so far as appointments are concerned, Gender should be irrelevant and to bring it up, no matter how well intentioned, just reinforces the possibility that an official's gender becomes more of a talking point than the fixture to which they are appointed.
Rebecca, like many others is a National List Official and viewed, rightly or otherwise as capable of handling the match.

Male or female my point stands. Had this have been a first year male referee having done 5 EFL games and a handful on WSL I think there would be much more said. As I stated this is nothing against the referee, I truly hope she has a great game, but these appointments must be earned on merit whether you are male or female. The FA Cup 3rd Round should not be used as an FA advertising campaign for referees.

If this referee continues to officiate the games in WSL and internationals as stated previously then she could be looking at 10-12 EFL games all season compared to probably 35+ from many others. Are we saying that would be enough games to justify a promotion to SG2 as well?

They'd have to be promoted to SG2 first.

Natalie Aspinall already is SG2.

I could be totally wrong here, but isn’t Harrington from Newcastle? Just always had it in my head that he was?  He’s been given the Newcastle game which peaked my curiosity

Why have Madley and Friend been swapped?

Presumably because Madley has been off for the last couple of weeks so they didn’t want to expose him to a TV game?

An evening in front of the TV for me this evening watching Swindon v Man City and Darren England. My word, someone is pushing England's career very hard at present. He is a Yorkshire referee isn't he so I wonder who on earth that might be ?

From the little I have seen of England, nothing live only on TV, I rather like his style and whilst on occasions he has displayed some naivety, particularly on positioning ( which perhaps is only to be expected when beginning at a new more senior level ) I have little doubt he will be ranking among the "big hitters" before too many more seasons on a career trajectory something akin to Paul Tierney's perhaps. A Match Observer and former FL referee, whom I know and whose opinion I greatly respect, rates England highly.

Why is England wearing the FA badge?

Surely the same thing hasn’t happened like last year and the FIFA badges for 2022 aren’t ready! 🙄
