Jon Moss, for goodness sake!

Happy with Mike Dean for Chelsea V Man Utd.

Wonder if Moss and/or Dean might be stepping down at the end of the season?

Well my money is still on Graham Scott getting the final.

Dean after doing Chelsea in QF.

I would be happy to see Moss go at the end of the season.

Whoever gets to the final I think Pawson has to be overwhelming favourite to get the game

If Mike Dean was to get injured, that is a huge responsibility for Andy Madley - I am surprised they did not go for someone with a bit more experience as 4th official for that game.

Moss has not been good enough for a semi final IMO, but am not surprised he has a semi final as he seems to be in favour.  The only surprise is he does not have the Manchester United game!

Under normal circumstances I kind of agree with you but Madley has a white badge, Wembley will be empty and the current versions of the 2 teams are such that its not like doing a Mourinho XI vs Ferguson XI.

If you were in the running for the final would you prefer to be missed out to do it in a normal year or grasp it with both hands?

Attwell with Massey-Ellis plus 1 (unless I have missed the fact Sian has done it?)

The very high opinion of Jon Moss by the 'Powers that be' is something that I just have never understood. Nope, can't see it at all. In another era I would have put him on a par with Brian Daniels or Ken Baker. Steady enough performers but nothing out of the ordinary. What the heck do I know.?

I would be amazed if the Final doesn't go to Pawson but then, the FA's ability to surprise is legendary.

I have 'liked' this rather than 'agreed' because I am not sure I'd be quite as generous as Whistleblower.  My recollection of both Messrs Baker and Daniels would put them rather higher in the pecking order than Jon Moss although I'm pretty sure that neither ever got as much as a sniff at a semi final, let alone a final.

Daniels and Baker ended up at opposite ends of the assessing scale. Ken was always very thorough but fair, mentioning things to generate thought, without it necessarily affecting your mark. Mr Daniels was very much a member of the "hatchet" brigade, who enjoyed pointing out areas of weakness and failure, without always providing a solution

Sian Massey-Ellis has not done the FA Cup Final. She lined on the FA Trophy Final a few years back. She would be the first woman to officiate at a FA Cup Final. Wendy Toms was on the line for the League Cup Final back in 2000.

I think Lee Mason will get the final, or possibly Graham Scott as an outside bet

I think Pawson/Tierney/Kavanagh/Attwell will be saved for when fans are back in the stadiums. They've still (hopefully) got many years left.

League Cup and FA Cup in the same season? Not unprecedented- Alan Wiley certainly did it- but unusual. Although Keith Hackett seems pretty certain that Mason will get the FA Cup Final.
