As a neutral I thought Woolmer had a decent game although the home crowd didn't agree.  There was a shout for a Plymouth penalty which might have been given, one of those where the defender won the ball cleanly and the attacker went over his leg afterwards. Not a pen for me but sometimes given.

Difficult to judge the goalline incident from the angle of the camera and certainly impossible for the officials to be certain it crossed the line. For my part my best guess is that had there been technology it would have been very close to being a goal but perhaps a few centimetres from fully crossing the line.

The commentator made a point of mentioning that Woolmer was previously an AR in the Premier League and rather made it sound as though he was not an established referee.

No angle showed the goal line straight on. Assistant on far side was close to goal line to make judgement call. I have yet to see evidence that would convince me that the whole ball had crossed the whole line.
I watched the next 10-15 minutes in which Mr Woolmer decided not to give any fouls and the temperature of the game rose. Commentators fixated on Woolmers past as a Prem assistant given the goal line incident. I would prefer to focus on the fact he is a SG2 ref yet did not identify the need to penalise, to rein the game back in

A curious incident in tonight's Plymouth v Bristol Rovers replay on BT Sport. Curious because Plymouth hadn't apparently installed goal line technology at their ground which didn't help their cause when a 'did it cross the line or not' incident went against the home side. I thought goal line technology was compulsory at all League grounds but obviously not. For what it is worth, I tended to agree with Andy Woolmer and his AR (who looked directly in line) that although it was a close thing, the ball had not crossed the line. Crucial because Rovers ended up winning 1-0. I didn't see enough of the game to comment on the performance of Andy but perhaps other RTR correspondents were present or watching on BT who could offer a view.

GLT only exists in the top two divisions.
Thanks, I thought I had seen it at Gresty Road but obviously not!
