Can't see it posted anywhere, but Tony Harrington has the FA Trophy Final and John Busby has the FA Vase Final.

Congratulations to both officials. Must be an excellent sign for Harrington, as I’m sure the trophy usually goes to an SG1 official!

Andy Madley refereed the FA Trophy Final in 2019 when he was still a Select Group 2 referee. He was then promoted a few months later so this could be a strong indication that Tony Harrington will be promoted.

Congrats to Tony and John (and their teams) and hope you have a great day out. In John's case, as with Ross Joyce a year or two back, it seems that a major error (penalty in the Peterborough v Lincoln) has not stopped him getting a top appointment. It remains to be seen whether John heads upwards with immediate effect or stays put as Ross did following his Vase Final appointment.

The fourth official on the 2019 final was Matt Donohue who was also promoted that summer.

Without double checking I think SG2 have had Trophy final for last 3, if not 4, years.

No other than 2019 with Andy Madley, it’s all been Select Group referees.

2020- Peter Bankes (Select Group)
2019- Andy Madley (Select Group 2)
2018- Chris Kavanagh (Select Group)
2017- Paul Tierney (Select Group)
2016- Lee Mason (Select Group)
2015- Michael Oliver (Select Group)
2014- Craig Pawson (Select Group)
2013- Jon Moss (Select Group)
2012- Anthony Taylor (Select Group)
2011- Stuart Attwell (Select Group)

I stand corrected. Looking at last few years I think it is the FA Youth Cup that has moved from SG1 to SG2
