Hajrá Lilák. Csak a Kispest. Hajrá Magyarok! Hajrá játékvezetői csapat! Soha ne add fel. Nincs sárga kérem!!! No Chris Kavanagh doesn't live in Ashton or even in the Greater Manchester area!!

Congratulations to Anthony & his team. Especially happy for Adam Nunn who I've had a soft spot for since he was a mere nipper!

I like that it hasn't gone to someone who hasn't had it yet purely because it would lose some of that specialness.

Common sense appointment really as it wouldn't be the same without fans and family. Though Wembley is plenty big enough for all involved family to be there socially distant.

Taylor gets to do Arsenal V Chelsea again! I think he had a very good game in 2017.

I thought it might go to someone who's not had it previously, although personally I think Dean and Oliver have probably had better seasons. I thought Taylor was very good for the first half but less so for the second half.

This does suggest Taylor is viewed as number 1 currently by the powers that be.

Well same referee as the 2017 final. I can only hope that the score is the same.  ;D ;D.  Congrats to anthony and the team.

Your last paragraph is the one that concerns me as I regard Oliver as a far more reliable and natural referee. And as has been said, Taylor hasn’t had the best of seasons either.
Maybe more pally with Elleray than Oliver is?

Pleased for Anthony and his team - with mention to Adam Nunn and Chris Kavanagh for whom this will be their first final.

I think it is sensible that it has gone to someone who has already had it, it would have been a shame for someone new to get it when the occasion will be so different to usual.

If it had been decided that it should go a referee who had already taken a Final, then my choice would have been Mike Dean for reasons I mentioned previously.
Although, like Hendo, I prefer Oliver to Taylor, I don't think either have had their best seasons.  I would also agree that the collective evidence suggests that Taylor is viewed as Number 1, but if that is Riley's opinion too, I don't place much weight on it.

However, all the Best to Anthony Taylor and his team on the day.  I suspect microscopist and I have little interest in the result of the game being as our respective Manchester teams failed miserably in the semis!

Taylor, Kavanagh & Atwell. This will be the TWENTIETH time this season Arsenal have had one of these officials.

We could amost run a betting ring on these types of decisions.

ZERO thought gone into this by PGMOL.

Congratulations to Anthony and his team, my personal preference given the unique circumstances would of been to give it someone who isn't likely to get the Cup final. I would of gone With Graham Scott personally someone who I think has turned into a Solid SG1 referee over the last couple of seasons.

Arthur G. Kingscott was the last man to referee two FA Cup Finals, refereeing the 1900 Final (Bury vs. Southampton) and the 1901 Final (Tottenham Hotspur vs. Sheffield United, as well as the replay).

This is not an appointment made by the PGMOL. This is made by the FA referees committee

Definitely the right answer in my opinion.  I'd be pretty gutted if a got the FA Cup final appointment in a behind closed doors campaign knowing that I'd never get it again, especially if I thought I'd be in with a chance in future years.

It looks like there's lots of thought gone into it by the appointing committee, which is not PGMOL.

I am surprised that if they were going for a second timer they haven't picked Atkinson. However as Taylor has had the fixture before perhaps that was a determining factor. Thus is going to be the Cup Final listed with an asterisk next to it and a footnote.
