Telegraph online claiming an exclusive that Craig Pawson - surprise, surprise - is to referee the Cup Final, with the F A making the official announcement later today. Pawson has already been told seemingly
I suspect this is right and not entirely a shock!

I saw a rumour on Twitter that Sian was to be an AR and therefore first female to officiate FA Cup Final! However due to the fact she’s been out so long, I can only imagine her involvement would be as an AAR….

How Tierney keeps getting big game appointments I will never know, his performances have hardly merited it

I think an appointment that more or less everyone in refereeing will agree with. Pawson has been one of the most consistent referees over the past few season I think appearing in most peoples top 5 at the end of term. Additionally he seems to be very highly thought of by UEFA as England's clear number 3 behind the elite two. An excellent  referee and very much worthy of the top domestic honour. Very well done to him and a huge congratulations to his team also.

Well said Dublinref.
But COOTE??? Let’s all hope and pray that Craig gets through the match without injury as the thought of Mr Coote taking over fills me with horror. Would have much sooner seen Andy Madley as 4th O

Congratulations to both teams of officials 👏  👏

Great to see a Kent F.A. Referee (Kirsty Dowle) appointed to the "middle" of a major cup final. The first since Steve Bennett, I believe (with whom I officiated several times in his Kent League days).

Indeed and before Bennett we have to go a long way back to the splendid Ron Challis in 1979.  Kent hasn't produced that many top officials but those it has have been good 'uns .

Barry Knight ?!?! 😀

I was thinking more in terms of FA Cup Final Referees and I don't suppose Barry Knight ever came close to that honour. He was I presume affiliated to Kent FA through his residence in Orpington, now in Greater London but historically Kent. As to whether he was a good 'un, I retain a neutral stance.
