I’m surprised these aren’t out yet from the FA.

Another refreshing set of appointments!

It’s looking highly likely that Bond and Robinson will be promoted to SG1 for next season!

Brilliant appointments, a good spread across SG1 and SG2

With experience of VAR, good for a play off final too ?

Good to see SG1 and SG2 involvement as previously the rule seemed to be anything after round 4 was refereed by an SG1.

If there are to be promotions then I agree these names are likely though I wouldn't rule out Josh Smith. Dean Whitestone with a good appointment as well ( albeit not with a Premiership team like Robinson and Bond ) but I am unsure whether his police career might preclude membership of SG1.

Brooks gets back on his horse after his recent fall. Important that he does well in this match; I hope the ball runs kindly for him.

Ughh I was hoping (and I'm sure many other Fulham fans the same) that we wouldn't see him again for a while after the West Ham away handball debacle. Out of interest, is there any process where a team can request not having a particular referee on their matches, and if they did, would PGMOL take any notice?

Perhaps none of this was Chris' fault as West Ham seem to have their own LOAFs when it comes to handball!  ;)

Absolutely none whatsoever & nor would the FA ref committee who do the cup appointments.

When Dave Allison was ref manager of the FL any club stupid enough to dare ask for a particular referee not to do their games would get that referee on their next game as a response & quite right too.

Dave Allison, now there was a man who wouldn't bow to pressure no matter from which quarter it came. I had the privilege of meeting him a few times and what an impressive, albeit in a quiet way, person he is. A wonderful servant of football, particularly officiating, in this country. A first rate referee in his time as well who never quite got the recognition nor senior appointments which he deserved.

While that might be true, I can't recall any instance of it actually happening.

Colchester asked not to have Stuart Attwell, next game they played AFCB - he was ref

That's one instance though.

Was that on 21st April 2012? Why did they request not to have him? He hadn't refereed them for several years prior to that, according to Soccerbase.
