I recall the 'silver fox' Seb Stockbridge had the Friday night televised game 2-3 years ago, and got quite a wide and positive press.

Good luck to all non FL refs/ARs. It is a great round to be involved in.

Lewis Smith, Aaron Jackson and Scott Tallis have matches involving EFL clubs.

Daniel Middleton, Paul Marsden, Reubyn Ricardo, Ed Duckworth and Paul Johnson have matches involving two non-League clubs.

The televised battle between Wrexham and Oldham Athletic (both National League teams) is refereed by National List ref Samuel Barrott (probably because it is televised).

SG2 referee Geoff Eltringham makes an appearance at the match I'll be attending, although I think I read somewhere that he is easing himself back in after injury.

I imagine Friday night's televised game at Hereford will include a tribute or two to Ronnie Radford, scorer for Hereford of one of the great FA Cup goals of all time v high-flying Newcastle, who died today aged 79. I never tire of seeing the scenes on the pitch after Ronnie scored his screamer. You wouldn't see such scenes now. RIP Ronnie.

I am afraid we saw rather too many of those sort of scenes at the back of last season, although perhaps they were a little more innocent on that occasion 50 years.

Scott Tallis must be having a good season in the National League to be appointed to a game with a League One side at home? Shrewsbury Town v York City

All things being equal I would imagine the top 3 are Smith, Jackson and Tallis, especially as 2 of them have/had EFL trophy games

Thought Scott Tallis had a good game yesterday. He was lucky early on when he was able to play an advantage to Shrewsbury, if he had had to give the foul he would had to send off the York player. A sending off would have changed the atmosphere. I say lucky because the Shrewsbury player decided to keep going rather than stopping or going down.

Another tv appearance and another clean sheet from Breakspear.

He hardly had a thing to do all evening.

I'm pleased to see Ruebyn Ricardo with an appointment. Does this mean he is now a 2A level referee ?

Nope but sign of midseason promotion imminent

Two mid-seasons in a little over 12 months ?  Someone must like him a lot.

As I have never seen him referee I am in no position to comment on whether he is deserving of these promotions. I believe JCFC has seen him and may offer a more informative opinion. From meeting young Mr Ricardo once when we were both fellow guests of match officials, I can report that a more pleasant, respectful, focused yet modest young man would be hard to find and so for that reason alone I am pleased to note his progress.

Apologies to move away from appointments to talk about one person, but I was fortunate to assist to Reubyn around 5 years ago on the MFL (where I still reside on the line but he has long surpassed), when he was around 20 years old. In a nothing Tuesday night game he was impressive, in fitness, decision making and just general conduct both on and off the pitch.  He then came to our RA a couple of years later after a number of promotions and I warned him then that I had my hopes pinned on him that in not too many years I 'd be seeing him on MOTD and I'd be telling everyone I worked with him once - I still think I may well be making that claim very soon.

Yes, it was good to see Mr Ricardo seize his moment in the action.

He looks terribly young. Richard Wigglesworth was the AR who had to go off.
