Technically it is correct as it is the rearranged first leg, which will just happen to take place after the other leg, making it the 2nd 1st leg followed by the 1st 2nd leg
.....i think

Rearranged 1st Leg

Thu 20th Jan 2022
Arsenal (First Team) v Liverpool FC (First Team)
EFL Cup
Referee: Oliver, Michael
Assistant Referee: Burt, Stuart
Assistant Referee: Bennett, Simon
Fourth Official: Hooper, Simon
Video Assistant Referee: England, Darren

I'm not sure that's quite right - the first leg is now at Anfield on 13th January. The second leg will be at Arsenal on 20th but, as mentioned, I thought Oliver was at a FIFA seminar from 17-21 Jan?

Cyprus, 31 January – 3 February

Ignore that, that's the date for the UEFA spring training camp.

The WC one is indeed 17th - 21st Jan in Abu Dhabi

Good to see they have given Michael Oliver the 2nd leg of Liverpool v Arsenal as he missed out on the 1st leg. Same team with the exception of Craig Pawson as 4O instead of Hoops. I guess whoever was pencilled in for the 2nd leg will now do the re-arranged 1st leg.

Liverpool V Arsenal is now taking place before Arsenal V Liverpool so for the sake of simplicity I'd suggest game at Liverpool should now be regarded as first leg and game at Arsenal as second leg, so Oliver is still refereeing first leg but the first leg is now not at Arsenal but at Liverpool, so whoever was pencilled in for the second leg can still referee the second leg but this will no longer be at Liverpool but at Arsenal, where the first leg was originally meant to be.

Simplicity like i said...

Good appointment for Marriner. I did think Oliver was a likely choice for Man City V Chelsea but maybe not now he's refereeing on Thurs night and that game's on Sat lunchtime.

Will Probably be Taylor now

Could be Tierney/ Kavanagh, maybe even Attwell but I doubt that after his last performance

Taylor has just had Chelsea v Liverpool so is it likely he would be appointed for City v Chelsea?  Who knows; maybe so!!

I think it will be Attwell, seeing he is the next 'big-hitter' who hasnt had a cup final yet. Then I would say probably Madley next year and Pawson for the FA Cup Final this season

I think Kavanagh could get it either this year or next, certainly before Madley Imo.
