No real surprises with the appointments - clear that Gillett is a favoured VAR given his PL appointments this term as well as this semi final!

Would like to see them take more of a risk and give Hooper or England a go at these games but I do think that Pawson and Oliver are doing well this season on the whole and they are deserved appointments.

Surely he’s refereed a League Cup tie since then?

He genuinely hasn't - Tottenham v Chelsea in a semi final in January 2019 was his last League Cup tie.

Congratulations to all, well deserved appointments.
I guess due to Oliver and Hatzidakis pulling out games at last minute today, if this was injury or covid related,
They most probably will have to be replaced.

And more than likely both managers will be absent due to corona.

Looks like Hatzidakis has been replaced by Marc Perry. Oliver still down for Arsenal-Liverpool.

Liverpool have requested postponement of the tie to the EFL today.

The Football League are investigating their request.

Really don't get this.  If it is postponed it will have to be played in the next 4 weeks and they just won't have bandwidth to do it.  They had similar with the World Club Championship and played a reserve / youth team. struggling to see why they don't do the same here.
