Surprised the Cup Final appointment has not been made by now. It was made on this day last year.

Hooper may as well end his career now then he’s been absolutely robbed by someone who’s incompetent most weeks

Well that’s surprised me so much I dropped my phone whilst reading the announcement.

Anyway, I think it’s worth congratulating the team appointed.

I hope Hooper is in line for the FA Cup final now.

Oh my god that is scandalous. Absolutely scandalous. I actually can't believe it.  He doesn't deserve this based off his performances, and there is certainly others who do. I hope he does well, but terrible decision by those in power!

Good luck to the team 3. well how many truthfully saw that coming. I can think of one or two others who must wonder what they have to do and are feeling cheated

First of all I am disappointed that Hooper doesn't get the middle for this Final but he has done very well to be appointed as 4th Official.

I shall now be very careful in what I write. My opinion is that Coote does not receive this appointment because of refereeing excellence. The powers that be clearly wish to reward him with appointments which, to my way of thinking, are beyond what his on field performances seem to warrant. Why that should be is matter of conjecture and speculation about which I have an opinion though I will keep it strictly to myself.

I would be delighted to see Hooper get the FA Cup Final but I think it most unlikely. I can't really see anyone other than Attwell and A Madley getting it and I would rate them at evens.

I really feel for Hooper on this occasion , it wouldn’t be so bad if he was beaten to it by someone who’s performances merited such an appointment , I’m afraid Coote doesn’t fall into that category. Hope it goes well for Coote and team though

First of all congratulations to team ref on their appointments, i would have rather have seen Hooper in the middle but i guess i was right earlier in the thread back in jan to say i wouldnt rule Coote out of getting the final.

I shall now be very careful in what I write. My opinion is that Coote does not receive this appointment because of refereeing excellence. Uefa badges to come to mind.

As Newcastle Fan I’m No happy about the appointments was hoping for Gillet or Taylor or  Atwell or Hooper as referee, I’m happy that Peter bankes is on the VAR
