I am not sure how sensible it is to appoint Simon Hooper to board duties at Brighton v Manchester United four days after he was VAR for the league game between two.  Even without the benefit of hindsight that sounds like a recipe for disaster, or at least an uncomfortable evening.

An uncomfortable evening perhaps - but I'm not sure there's too much disaster that can happen with him as FO!

In reality, I doubt too many people at either club will especially know or care. The fact it's the same fixture is just a coincidence really and you'd expect there will be two significantly different teams and I guess the SG1 and clubs soon get used to coming into contact with each other shortly after key decisions have been made.
