How a manager acted as a player should have no bearing on how they manage. Some refs I’ve come arrows particularly at a higher level are very rude and disrespectful so it may be that this was the case in this instance. Throw in a bit of frustration at conceding a last minute goal as well as the continued financial uncertainty then one can understand his frustration

I'm sorry to learn that ajb95 has come across senior very rude and disrespectful referees. There is no excuse for such behaviour. Over the years it has been my privilege to meet a fair number of senior referees and I can honestly say I have never come across rude or disrespectful behaviour. Some referees are naturally warm and friendly personalities while others are more aloof; some clearly think very highly of themselves while others are more modest and humble. Happily I have never encountered rudeness or disrespect.
