Whilst I have no allegiance to United nor Ronaldo let’s all take a step back and have a look at the facts, and not the newspaper gossip! And let’s not listen to bitter opposition fans.

If one was a professional footballer who has had a limelight firmly placed on them since they were still a kid (bear enough 20 years) and after a very frustrating poor performance where you just want to get away, and yet you have someone stick a camera in your face, how would you feel. Funny how the mother mentioned the son was autistic AFTER the papers picked up the incident.

As someone famous once told me - s**t happens. This is the case in this, something bad happened in the heat of the moment. We’re all human. Of course, no one condones what Ronaldo has done and he himself has admitted he got it wrong. But he has apologised, and (according to the tabloid gossip) offered to buy a new phone and offered tickets for a United game as his guest.

It seems to me that whenever something bad happens now people are hell bent on getting as much fame and money out of it as possible, rightly or wrongly. It’s a nothing story and there are far more important things going on that this. Accept the apology and the new phone and move on!
