Wayne Rooney moaning about how a match official speaks to him. Is he having a giraffe

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/60585235

Then you google Wayne Rooney ranting at referee and get all this

https://www.google.com/search?q=rooney+ranting+at+the+refereee&rlz=1C1ONGR_en-GBGB970GB970&oq=rooney+ranting+at+the+refereee&aqs=chrome..69i57j33i10i160.6578j0j15&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

Perhaps he will one again be invited to explain his comments?

How a manager acted as a player should have no bearing on how they manage. Some refs I’ve come across particularly at a higher level are very rude and disrespectful so it may be that this was the case in this instance. Throw in a bit of frustration at conceding a last minute goal as well as the continued financial uncertainty then one can understand his frustration

I'm sorry to learn that ajb95 has come across senior very rude and disrespectful referees. There is no excuse for such behaviour. Over the years it has been my privilege to meet a fair number of senior referees and I can honestly say I have never come across rude or disrespectful behaviour. Some referees are naturally warm and friendly personalities while others are more aloof; some clearly think very highly of themselves while others are more modest and humble. Happily I have never encountered rudeness or disrespect.

Not everyone, but just the odd one or two

Barnsley fans are seeing this as a blatant attempt to influence the referee in the crucial game on Saturday  :)
