I can only hope both Honvéd & Lilák follow suit and bring in new managers during the international break!

International break syndrome, has happened before.  I would be very surprised if Steve Bruce isn't announced as Norwich manager in the next few days.

Although it seemed a strange time to announce after the long awaited win, it seems it was more that Brentford were poor than Norwich were good. I'm afraid it was coming as actual performances have been very poor.

There are a number of other former players being mentioned, Russell Martin, Mark Robbins, not sure it will be any of them. Frank Lampard is bookies favourite, Also mentioned is Critchley, former Liverpool U23's coach now at Blackpool. But probably only Stuart Webber knows.

Eddie Howe is appointed at Newcastle to replace Steve Bruce. I have to say I'm a tad surprised but I wish Eddie and his team all the best, except when Newcastle are playing the Palace!

Jason Tindall, Stephen Purches and Simon Weatherstone all join him there. Dream team back together.  Some concerns at AFCB as to whether we will now lose those of his backroom staff that are still here - Steve Lovell & Richard Hughes are the most possible, although Rich is now Director of Football so will hopefully stay.

Not an auspicious start for Eddie at Newcastle as he has tested positive for Covid and has to miss his first game in charge!

Oh bless him.  I watched his presser earlier - made me miss him all over again. He'll no doubt be at the end of a video call to the dressing room, pre-match, half time & post match.

Another departure this weekend, John David Sewell. Never heard of him? Well he played over 400 games for Crystal Palace, Charlton and Leyton Orient in the 1960s and 1970s and in that time, he was never cautioned, let alone sent off, a booking by Kevin Howley at Bolton being rightly rescinded. Now he has died aged 85 and many of the older folk at Selhurst Park, myself included, will mourn the loss of a man who played 231 games for the Palace, the majority in Div 1 and many as club captain. I hope that there will be a suitable commemoration of his life on Saturday before the game v Villa (I will be there). RIP John.

Strong rumours from someone inside the club at Honvéd that Horváth Ferenc is getting sacked tomorrow! Please dear god of football let it be true!! Names in the hat to take over are Michael Boris (yes please) or Thomas Doll (would rather not!).
